When giving any personal card to someone, you as the one giving it, have a great opportunity to enhance the card. When the card has a prewritten message or an appropriate poem specific to them, this opportunity increases. Self-esteem and personal development are topics that are either discussed or avoided because of the insecurities which many people are working through. Our society is becoming more fragmented and insincere and consequently, relationships are being tested. 

How do you feel when you are complimented in a sincere way and know it's from the heart. The saying "words are cheap", I believe, refers mainly to spoken words. You, therefore, have an opportunity to personalise your words which when added to a prewritten card, embellish and honestly enhance the message. 

I am using two words which I will define in the context of my writing.  Embellish means to enhance a statement or narrative, to amplify, elaborate, enrich, magnify and make beautiful. Aftertaste means the remaining sensation following an experience. I will use these words to express emotions and the emotional experience the recipient of the card has upon reading the content you have sincerely and honestly written.
